Last night, we celebrated the grand opening of the new Park Centraal Amsterdam and our original bar and restaurant concept located within the hotel, Bar Claes, with over 900 of Amsterdam’s finest.
We spent the better part of 2019 redesigning and rebranding the hotel from Park Hotel to Park Centraal, putting a fresh emphasis on the rich heritage of the property and surrounding culture. Guests felt this the second they entered the festivities.
Walking in, guests were welcomed by hostesses dressed by legendary Dutch fashion designer Claes Iversen. After getting an inventive drink at one of the many bars, including Bar Claes, partygoers floated between three elaborate experience rooms. In one room, Dutch artist Merijn Kavelaars created splash paint masterpieces with guests. In another, guests jumped into a pit of Delft Blue foam pieces. In a third, Jajem provided a kopstootbar (the classic Dutch shot of jenever and beer combo) to pair with the Dutch karaoke. DJs Mike Righters and ROOG, singer Shirma Rouse, a saxophone player and vogue dancers kept guests dancing into the night with soul and house music. Special guests included Shary-An Nivillac, Mascha Feoktistova, Kaj van der Voort, Moïse Trustfull and David Laport. See all the party pics here.
It was a memorable and magnificent night, and we can’t wait for many more like it to come. There might even be another similar celebration in the Hague next year…stay tuned for Park Centraal Den Haag, opening in 2020. Follow @parkcentraalhotels and @bar.claes to stay up-to-date.
