Our historic Milan property, Palazzo di Porta Romana, opened for first time ever during our the exclusive fashion week event hosted by Anna Dello Russo in Feburary and was now to play host to an incredible, experiential art installation for this year’s Salone from April 17-22, 2018. The first time his property was open to the public in decades.
The piece, titled Altered States, was a collaboration between quartz manufacturer Caesarstone and revered NYC design firm Snarkitecture.
Caesarstone tasked Snarkitecture with reimagining the kitchen island and they did not disappoint. Inspired by the states of water and natural topography, Snarkitecture boldly layered quartz around a conceptual kitchen island and exhibit-goers interacted with ice, liquid, and steam in inventive ways. Not to brag, but Vogue Paris, Vogue USA, Architectural Digest USA, Telegraph Luxury UK, and Dezeen said it was one of the highlights of the week.
